A
REASON TO GO ON
When you feel there is
nothing to live for,
Remember:
Your daughter's wedding day,
and she cries as she says,
"I wish mom were here with us."
When you despair, and lose all hope,
Remember:
Your first grandchild's birth,
and your only son says,
"Mom would have loved to be here."
When you are self-absorbed to the point
where you could destroy the gift of life you've been given,
Remember:
Your husband's face, streaming with an avalanche of tears,
as he imagines the rest of his life without you.
When there is nothing left inside, except an empty hole,
Remember:
The day your mom died,
and you weren't there to hold her lonely hand,
kiss her, and say goodbye.
Imagine THESE Realities:
An empty seat at the dinner table
Tearful Christmas mornings.
A garden, left untended.
Your familiar smells, gone.
Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren you will never meet, and they
will never meet you.
The memory of you will fade, over time..........
This truly is "A Wonderful Life", and it would be "Sadder still to
watch it die".
Remember that life is not just about today and the sadness that
sometimes encompasses us.
There will be moments to treasure in our lives, even if we have to wait
for them.
We do not belong to ourselves.
We were not put here to gratify ourselves.
We are here to touch others, and add to the quality
of other's lives.
