Anyway, it's just something I did off the top of my head, but I thought it looked kinda cool. The ship and its engine trail seem to be a bit skewed, but it doesn't take away from that 70's-ish airbrushed T-Shirt feel. Also, I think it sorta looks like the "Brown Hornet" ship from the old "Fat Albert" cartoons. (C)1995 Bryce L. Tomlinson "Tattoo" - Back in 2000 I was a very prolific builder in ActiveWorlds. I was really living in that virtual world. Up until I became conviced that I had totally lost it and needed to get out of that scene, I wanted to get a tattoo made of my avatar, so I drew this one up and prepared myself to "get inked". Never did get this tattoo. (C)2000 Bryce L. Tomlinson "Tattoo" - Back in 2000 I was a very prolific builder in ActiveWorlds. I was really living in that virtual world. Tomlinson "The Bar" - Here's a picture I did simply to demonstrate the convincing results you could get out of NewTek's DigiPaint 3.0 on the Amiga. My intent was to show how you could "FAKE" 3D rendering if you used the proper textures and lighting techniques. I think AmigaWorld Magazine had a few articles on methods to do this. There are still elements of the picture that look cartoony at best, but I think for a demonstration, this picture serves its purpose well. Unfortunately, I neglected to leave any room BEHIND the bar for a bartender. A major oversight that wasn't caught until the picture was almost totally finished. Oh well, still fun to look at, and the NewTek posters in the room sort of add to the touch, even though I had to use Photon Paint to "TILT" the "Eye Flag" poster on the left. (C)1996 Bryce L. Although I showed this collection to a few friends, up until now, almost noone has seen every picture in this series. All of these were drawn using Expresso fine point ink pens, and some were embellished with Sharpey color pens and various highlighers. (C)1989 Bryce L. Afterward, I decided to try to put it into one of the face pictures, and see how it turned out. The fine tip of the Expresso pen made this really easy to render. Always was my drawing utensil of choice. :) (C)1989 Bryce L. I sort of began to move away from the high-contrast art, and more into what I felt was a finer tuned drawing technique. Keep in mind that most of these pictures did not take more than 5 or 6 minutes to complete. (C)1990 Bryce L. I figured if I was any good at it when I was a little kid, I might be better at it with some of the new techniques I was using. The result turned out ok, I thought. Not awesome, but it was an experiment after all. (C)1990 Bryce L. I'm used to drawing these kinds of line drawings of faces by hand with pen and ink, so it was only natural to try to do the same on the computer some time.
